The MVI71-HART Master Multi-drop Network Interface Module allows Rockwell Automation PLC compatible processors to easily communicate with HART slave devices. The MVI71‑HART module interfaces up to 15 devices on each HART channel with the PLC processor. Four channels on the module support master protocol commands to interface with slave devices on their own networks. Each port is individually configurable. Data is exchanged between the HART network and the PLC processor backplane using the internal database contained in the module and direct control by the processor's ladder logic and pre-defined data objects (5000 registers maximum).

The MVI71-HART module is the perfect solution for industrial applications in chemical and refining operations, gas and liquid distribution systems, and remote offshore monitoring stations addressing virtually all aspects of control, data acquisition, and maintenance.

Support for PLC processor programming over Ethernet using a TCP/IP service and a serial port on the module connected to channel 0 of the processor. The module's third port emulates Channel 0 of the processor to pass through messages from the port to the processor

  • Twenty independent server connections permit remote clients to interact with all data contained in the module
  • Data can be derived from other clients on the network, through the client on the module, or from the PLC processor

  • The third port on the module can emulate the Channel 0 port on the PLC, This allows a DF1 master device attached to the emulated (Channel 0) port to monitor and control data in the PLC.
